Volunteer Resources

Volunteers, you are not alone! River Valleys provides valuable resources, supports newcomers with mentors, and offers training on many topics.

Volunteering

You can make a difference in someone's life as a volunteer with the Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys! Our volunteers are dedicated, inspiring, and invaluable as they help girls to realize their full potential. Quite simply, there would be no Girl Scouting without them!

Whether you have an hour, a day, a weekend, or more, your time makes a significant impact on the lives of girls in your community. We're looking for volunteers who represent the diversity of the world we live in—men as well as women, senior citizens as well as younger adults, people of all racial and ethnic backgrounds, and of course our treasured alumnae—anyone who wants to help make a difference in

the lives of girls.

Join our more than 18,000 adult volunteers and find out how Girl Scouts can help you build community, enhance your skills, learn something new, make contacts, rediscover your own potential, and inspire girls everywhere. Find out more about the many ways you can volunteer. To learn what kinds of Girl Scout volunteers are needed in your area, call 800-845-0787 or complete a volunteer interest form.

Volunteer Bank Accounts

The Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys has negotiated a favorable banking arrangement and is asking all troop and service unit accounts to set up their accounts at Wells Fargo when meeting the River Valleys criteria as outlined in the Council Bank Accounts Consolidation Frequently Asked Questions.  Setting up a bank account at Wells Fargo has been made convenient by using the Troop Account Checklist which can be found below.  In addition to the attractive account features which include but are not limited to, free checking with no minimum balance, free online banking and debit cards, these accounts will not require a third volunteer signer from the service unit team.  To open your account, please print off the Troop Account Checklist and the Before You Open an Account brochure.  Please note that a check off list for opening service unit bank accounts will be available after October 1, 2008. If you have any questions, please talk to your Membership Specialist or, call 800-845-0787.
